HEALTH CARE ALLOWANCE (ZORGTOESLAG)
Possible compensation for the costs of the standard basic Dutch health insurance.

Conditions (2023):
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a Dutch health insurance policy (n/a for student insurance)
  • Your gross income does not exceed € 38.520, or if you have an allowance partner, your joint income does not exceed € 48.224
  • The value of your savings and investments does not exceed €127.582 or €161.329 combined with your partner
RENTAL ALLOWANCE (HUURTOESLAG)
Rent subsidy provided to residents on a low income with high rental costs.

Conditions (2023):
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You rent an independent living space, being your address of registration
  • Τhe total amount paid for rent may not exceed the limit for your situation (€ 808,06 or € 452,20 if you are younger than 23 years old)
  • The value of your assets and investments does not exceed €33.748 or €67.496 combined with your partner
  • Your income in the end will determine the amount of the allowance

When your income changes, then these benefits should be updated accordingly.

CHILD BENEFIT (KINDERBIJSLAG)

An allowance from the Dutch government towards the expenses of raising a child, who lives in the Netherlands or abroad.

Conditions:

  • Your child(ren) is/are younger than 18 years of age.

Even if your child lives in Greece (or elsewhere), it is possible to qualify for this benefit, under certain conditions.

CHILDCARE ALLOWANCE (KINDEROPVANGTOESLAG)
Allowance to parents of young children (until the age of 12) to pay for the cost of childcare facilities.

Conditions:
  • Both parents need to be either working, studying or following a learning path to find a job
  • Your child(ren) is/are going to a registered childcare center
CHILD BUDGET (KINDGEBONDEN BUDGET)
Extra monthly contribution for families with children.

Conditions:
  • You receive child benefit from the Social Insurance Bank (SVB)
  • Your (joint) income is not too high. How high your income may be depends on the composition of your family
  • Your (joint) assets are not too high
